I've got some MDF window boards which I was told to seal before I fitted them, obviously to resist any possible moisture problems.
To do this I've primered, undercoated and then gloss finished the underneath. All of these were oil-based so as to seal them effectively.
My potential problem is that now I've glossed them, the surface is very shiny and smooth and I'm not sure whether Gripfill or alike will stick them to the masonary reveals? Will it be ok or do I need to key the underneath of them first with some sandpaper?
Secondly, I've read on here that most people dab platerboard onto the reveals forst to level them, then stick the window board to the plasterboard. If I were to do this, wouldn't I also need to seal the underneath of the platerboard too..?
The reveals are pretty level and I was planning to use the gripfill to level them out when fitting - or should I just use plasterboard underneath instead?
Thanks in advance
