Hi our vokera linea 28 boiler is showing an intermittent 01 fault in ch mode, sometimes water too and going to lockout. Our plumber has changed both NTC sensors and the main pcb. I have to now go and buy a High Limit thermostat on the advise of a second plumber. Already spent £200.
The boiler will work for almost an hour then cuts out, wont stay on after reset unless it has totally cooled down. Temperature can be up at 70c and presssure gauge seems to be all over the place. Will be 2 1/2 bar then drops to 1 1/2 or lower. The heaters are scalding when it is on.
It never shows any other fault than 01, which is an ignition problem according to the manual. Ignition parts have been tested and look ok. Dont want to fork out for ignition pcb unless we actually need it!!
HELP!
Many thanks in advance, Melanie and freezing family

your plumber should have checked resistance readings of thermistors
before changing tbh

main pcb? take it you still have the same fault so he has guessed at an expensive part being faulty when it isnt. plus you cannot return pcbs

if he is having a guess he would have been better guessing at the ignition pcb as the Linea is famous for them

if he had the time and patience, again he should test o/heat stat before changing, including testing pipe temp to confirm if oheat stat is tripping out because pipe IS actually too warm, which would point to other faults

did he check DHW max gas pressure, DHW min gas pressure, CH burner pressure high and low, did he check if modureg is dropping gas pressure down??????

I know, I dont have a lot of confidence in it actually being fixed before we have to re mortgage house! Am beeling.
He did say the obvious parts had been tested and adjusted the gas pressure as up at 14 when it should be 10. He didn't think it could be ignition pcb as it was firing up ok for the hot water and will work in ch for a while. So then concluded it may be electrical and got the pcb.
Another guy coming tomorrow so maybe a fresh set of eyes, and tests, will prove worthwhile. Hope so, its baltic!!!
Many thanks, Melanie
