Hi Guys,

Is there a way to check if the plaster will hold tiles?
I have some old plastered wall and not sure whether I need to remove the plaster and install some backer boards before tiling, or the plaster is good enough and will hold the tiles.

Thanks,

Depends how heavy the tiles are and how well the plaster is stuck to the walls. Old plaster tends to separate from the walls.

Fix a tile in position, leave overnight and then try to remove the next day. If the plaster has had it, it will pull away with the tile.
