Will this 2-way switch wiring work?

I am wiring a light for two-way switching. The normal way - to a 2-way switch and then using 3-core and earth to the remote switch. My question is this: Can I take a phase and neutral wire from the L1 and L2 connections directly to another luminaire so the two lights will work together? This would save on a very long cable run between the luminaires. Thanks.

PLUGWASH - Thanks for the diagram. However, I want to omit the cable which runs between the two luminaires, if possible.

Thanks for that. I shall run this h/s/l light on its own 6 amp circuit, I think. Cable runs are quite long when added to either of the other lighting circuits. Thanks for help.
