Tree is approx. 35 years old and at the back of our garden on Sheltered Accommodation land. About 9m to the boundary wall and then 2m in . It was cut back about 2 years ago after numerous complaints to the management company who run the Sheltered Accommodation. But has grown back even more monstrous. We wanted it pollarded right back but are not the owners of it. We have cut back the overhanging branches (returned over wall) that we can reach on our boundary, but it is now "towering " over us. It blocks out a lot of sunlight but apparently the law states we cannot do anything about lack of light. If it was to fall in bad weather onto our property and cause damage, are they responsible? We complained to them years ago and even got the local MP involved, but the management company do not see it as a problem. Any sugestions ? Anyone know what height the tree can get to before something has to be done?
