I lost my wifi, couldnt connect, tried restore. I have an old laptop that I tried, that didnt work, been fidling with the router anyway its now working.
Maybe intermit fault.
Anyway
It now seems to be working, but I thought the signal strength icon bottom right, was green its now grey should it be green?

Yeah, signal meter should be green. Could you upload a few screenshots of your Windows desktop including when you have the Wifi config open?

With what I have been reading, it stays grey, I must have thought it was green.
It is green on my xp laptop.

On Windows XP, the wireless icon is a monitor with semi-circular "waves" coming from it. When data is being transmitted, the screen is on, and the waves are green. On Win7 the wireless icon is a triangular sr of bars. These remain grey. If you click on the bars, you will see all available connections, and their signal strengths (in green).
