I have a GRANT EUROFLAME Kitchen/Utility OIL Boiler

It is a non Condensing boiler.
Flue is room sealed
Flue approx 2 feet exits straight thru the wall. (Balanced flue?).

The boiler is approx 2 1/2 yrs old. I have it regulary serviced.

Twice in the last 2 weeks when the wind has been blowing hard from a certain direction, the burner has gone into lockout.

Note: In my opinion, I reckon it is the wind causing the problem!

I have not up to now had any problems at all, although the Service Engineer did mention the pump was getting noisey.

Any suggestions please!

Thanks
Alan

Ask your service engineer. He's in best position to comment as he knows your boiler.

I suppose a very strong wind hitting the flue might make it difficult
for the fan the push the gases out of the boiler.
But it's not something I have come across.
It might be possible that some of the seals of the boiler are allowing
air out and therefore the wind is finding a way through the boiler affecting
the burn.

This is often a sign that the pump pressure is lower than it should be - so, the boiler needs a service and clean and then should be set up using an oil pressure gauge and flue gas analyser.
When set to the manufacturers spec, the flame shouldn't blow out.
