Hi, my name is Matt, I have just moved into a new property and the majority of the windows are not fitting correctly. Looking at them I noticed that the (no idea what it is called) End cap on the hinges are missing. These caps are the V shaped ones which sit on the hinge and on the door, the door has the... Male end (making up this terminology by the way) and hinge one is the female. They help bring the door in and against the seal. I hope you know what I mean.
If you do know, am I able to purchase the caps separately or do I need to purchase a whole new hinge mech?

Thank you for reading,

Matt

It is Diy-able but its quite a tricky job, Especially on large openers. If it was just 1 or 2 windows I would say go for it but as it sounds like lots of windows its probably worth getting some quotes from local double glazing company's.

Pairs of hinges cost about £10-20 each and each air would take around 30mins to and hour to change for someone who knows what they are doing.

Ok, I was thinking about stamping out some small metal plates with a 45 degree angle in them, bend it the create the locating parts and sliding them in, as the old ones have broken off and slide around (I assume the welding or whatever it is that keeps them on has broken off). It's just how I would secure them, either create a hole and make a thread to put a small grub screw in or glue, which I really don't want to do!
