Hi peeps could somebody tell me if i can change a window aprox 1metre x 1 metre that is situated on an gable end wall on a gallery stair case to a 2metre x 1metre window this will involve removing the brickwork below the window
i need to know if building regs will allow me to make the window bigger when its situated in a gallery style stairs case due to the risk of someone falling down the stairs and throught the window i know it will need toughened glass
Oh I see, you need more than just toughened glass to comply with the regs. Refer to 1.29 & 1.30 on page 9 of the document and diagram 11 on page 12 of the document http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/Pp...gportal.gov.uk/uploads/br/BR_PDF_ADK_1998.pdf You can make your whole gable glass if you like but you will still need guarding to the stairs.
