I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7 and IE9. In the past few days whenever I click on a link to another website the new window is only half height - top half. Clicking the maximise tab brings it to full size. Has anyone any idea why this has started happening?

Could be how you shut the window. Expand the window to full screen if that is what you want. Hold down the Ctrl button. Open the "edit" in the tool bar and select Close window or close tab. This may reset to how it was (full window).

Also under the same toolbar, select "Tools" then "Internet options" see what settings are there.
Did you update your system in the last few days through Windows Update? Sometimes it will "reset" your chosen settings.
