Windows XP Logo test

Hi. Can anyone help. I am trying to install some software which will allow be to connect my mobile phone to my PC. During the process I am getting the warning message "this driver does not pass the XP Logo Test".

How important is this? A further message says that could damage my PC if I installed this software.

What should I do?

In simple terms, the software has not been certified by microsoft. 9 times out of 10, there are no problems, but it's worth taking a restore point before installation just i case.

A Restore Point is a point in time where you can roll your computer back. This is handy when something goes wrong.

From start menu,
Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
Click Create a restore point then next
Give it a description then click create
