Wireless Router problem (I think)

Can anyone possibly shed some light on why my linksys WRT54G wireless router suddenly seems to be making our internet connection really slow and sometimes non-existant.

We have been using the router happily for about two years and in the last few months have been noticing that the internet has been running really slowly and sometimes (quite often of late) will disappear altogether after about twenty minutes. Unplugging everything and starting again will resolve this problem but only for another twenty minutes or so. Initially we thought that our modem was faulty but when the router is not in use there appears to be no problem.

You mention a router and a modem , can I assume you have cable?

Check to see if one of your neighbours is now braodcasting on the same channel as you are or a channel which is very close.

Make sure you have enabled the security settings in the router settings page, and change the admin password for the router from the default setting to something less obvious than 'admin', 'password' or just left blank..
