Hi,

I have a salus bc600rx receiver on a baxi boiler with a wireless salus rt501rf thermostat. Has always worked absolutely fine...last used earlier this year (april time maybe?)
A few days ago the receiver started intermittently clicking with a red light and when I have tried to turn the heating on via the thermostat it (what I assume) won't connect and the clicking and flashing is the receiver trying to reconnect unsuccessfully.

I have tried some basic troubleshooting ie. Changing the batteries in the thermostat, resetting one and both, turning off at mains, checking that the jumpers are in the corresponding places, resetting the boiler, but the only things that worked was when I turned off ALL of the downstairs plugs at the fuse box then when turned them back on the heating worked for about 5 mins (the thermostat was already set to heat at this point though so I dont know whether it was an automatic thing or whether it somehow connected but then disconnected again)

Is there something I am missing? Do I just need to buy a new thermostat? Do I need to buy a new thermostat and receiver?

I will add that the boiler works absolutely fine for hot water

I believe Salus aren’t the best/most reliable. I think there’s previous posts on here about them, try removing the batteries for 10 minutes and see if that helps, if not try 30 minutes. Are you using food quality alkaline batteries?

Yes, I have tried energizer and Duracell both brand new out of the pack. I have also tried leaving the batteries out for a while and still made no difference. I fear it may have just given up the ghost for some reason.
I have also seen a few things during my searches about salus not being the best but it was already fitted when I bought the house over 7 years ago and has been going strong until this (although I don't know what a good lifespan is for a wireless thermostat )
Thanks for taking the time to reply though CBW
