Hi Guys,

I know this subject is covered lots but I've done some searching and cant seem to get clear in my head about it.

I have a Sime Combi Boiler and would like to add a Wireless thermostat as we currently use the inbuilt controls on the boiler itself, I have not purchased a Thermstat yet but have been reading a couple of manuals of the ones I like and the wiring is all the same.

My question initially is around the power, I have seen lots of posts of people sharing the current boiler power and running a live and neutral extention if you like from inside the boiler, rather than a new fused spare to power the receiver unit. So which is the best / prefered method of providing power to the wireless receiver unit? In addition to that, we have a single power socket in the power cupboard which has never been used for anything as it's in such an out of the way location, is there any reason I cannot just wire a standard plug onto the wireless receiver and plug into this socket, rather than either of the above?

Thank you very much for any advice you can offer, I appreciate any feedback.
