Hi,
We have a Potterton Gold HE 33 combi boiler with e Towerstat RF wireless thermostat and boiler controller. It has been installed and working for the past 18 months. Just recently we have been getting the following problem.
1. If I call for central heating from the RF unit.
2. The boiler receives signal and starts the pump but not the burners.
3. However if I now put a hot tap on, the boiler fires the burners.
4. If I then switch off the tap (with the wireless FR unit still on), the burners stay lit.
5. If I call for the central heating to stop from the RF unit, then both the pump and the burners on the boiler stop.

The RF unit has new batteries in it and is is synced with the boiler.

If any of you guys have any idea what is going on, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Many Thanks

I suspect its a water flow problem.

Possibly a blocked pump impeller or dirt in the boiler or a restricted flow in the heating system.

Apart from checking the pump impeller, may not be such an easy diagnosis.

But that's only my suspicion! I have never seen your boiler or been to your property!

Thanks for your response Agile.
Since I posted the message, I have put the old manual timer back in the boiler and it works fine. Would a water flow problem still give me the same problem with the manual timer?
