Hi,

I'm looking for a wireless thermostat (as cheap as possible) that will work with a Potterton EP2002 programmable timer.

The Potterton timer is hard wired to the boiler's Honeywell junction box with a five core cable. What I would like to do is put in a wireless receiver for a room thermostat in serial with the Potterton timer.

I think (but I could be wrong) I would need to pass the cable from the boiler junction box, through wireless receiver and into the Potterton timer.

I need to make sure the wireless receiver only controls the heating and not the hot water.

Can anyone recommend anything for this job?

Thanks,

Nick

Yes you're right, I want something that will work and be reliable!

if you get the honeywell cmt 927 or siemens rev24rf, you can chuck the hopeless old timer away as well.
installing and programming are very simple on both.

forgot that you probably have a cylinder, in which case you can use the old timer for that so you can now have the heating and dhw on at completely separate times; will make both respond a lot better
