Wires loose in 1 way switch, 5 brown wires??

Do you mean that previously the fan continued to run for ten minutes ,after the switch was turned off ??
One of The 4 brown wires is likely the permanent line to the fan and its copper conductor may not be fully inserted and in contact with the terminal screw ,possibly clamping it's brown insulation. The copper May even be snapped .

Sounds like the permanent and switched live to the fan have been reversed. It might be worth whipping the cover off the fan and post a picture of the connections onto here.

At any point in time did the black with brown sleeve become detached from the switch terminal that it is in now ?

Yes it previously ran for 10 minutes after switch turned off.

So...

Thought I'd nailed it, but then tried light in sons bedroom, didn't work, yet worked a minute ago. Then turned bathroom light back on, and his light works again?

So, went back trying each wire back in 1 way, none of them worked apart from the same one again.

So we're stuck with fan not on a timer, bathroom light works fine, but sons bedroom light only works if bathroom light on.

Still better than no lighting in bathroom. Will try messing about with it again tomorrow.

Looks like the live switch goes straight to fan.

Put sleeved black into com?

Yes.

Into 1Way, put two wires: the brown that you earlier identified as going to the lamp, and the brown that comes from the same cable as the black-with-brown-sleeve and the grey.

Into COM, put all the other browns and the black-with-brown-sleeve.

Did it. Now bathroom light permanently on again. Fan works with switch, bedroom lights won't come in unless bathroom switch is on. Fan no timer.

Wait forget that. Had wrong wire. Ok done it again. Now bathroom light working. Fan on timer. But bedroom lights still won't come on without bathroom switch.

One of the Browns is in the wrong side of the switch (and reading above, I have a feeling L1 is now the permanent live and com the switched side - doesn't really matter). Do you have a piece of connector block, Try taking each brown out in turn, and putting it in the conenctor block and turning on the power and trying it, until its the the bedroom lights that dont work at all, if you get the wrong thing not wokring, but the wire back exactly where it came from and try another. When you find the right one, then you need to move it to the other terminal from what it was in.

Your five wires are, Live in from the previous light(1), Live out to the next lights [bedrooms](2), Live to the bathroom light(3), Permanent live to the fan(4), and switch/trigger to the fan(5)

You need to end up with 1,2 and 4 on one side of the switch (traditionally com), and 3 and 5 on the other side (tradionally L1)

How many wires have you got in com and how many in L1?, with how you have it at the moment you have 1 and 4 in the permantly live side, and you have 2, 3 and 5 in the switched side, your aim is to identify 2 and move it over!

No, it’s a bit more complicated than that; there are six wires in total: five browns and a sleeved black.
I guess that the extra wire is going to another room.
