Evening All,

I currently have a security light with a seperate PIR sensor connected.

Is it possible to simply replace the security light with one that has a built in PIR sensor and have it triggered by both the external sensor and the built in sensor?

Can I simply replace the light or will the wiring have to be changed?

Appreciate any suggestions/advice

yes you can... you need permanent live, neutral, earth at the light, and the switched live from the sensor.. so use a 4 core flex to connect the 2..

in the light there is usually 4 terminals.. L.N.E. and the 4th terminal is the pir swithed live to the light and can be used to power non PIR lights, but the reverse is true.. put the external PIR switched live into that terminal..
