I have a new Vent Axia bathroom fan type VA100XT to replace the old (same model number) but the new version has live, neutral & LS terminals. The cable coming from the pull cord switch is standard live, neutral and earth. Does anyone know how to do the connection?

Cheers Bob

Sounds like you have a different model number as the existing sounds like it’s just on and off. Can you provide a photo of the existing wiring?

Country Fan - they are the same model although it has been upgraded over the years - The old model ref is 251410A and the new is 251410C.

Andy PRK - Do I do the loop from the live to the LS directly in the fan - not wanting to do anything stupid with electricity.

The OP's wiring does not have a permanent live.

Both L and LS must have power when switched on otherwise the fan won't run at all.
Not sure about it.
Recently I fitted a fan in exactly the same situation and connected the switch live to the LS leaving the permanent live connection (L) empty.
The fan runs when light is on and stops immediately when off.
Isn't the permanent live just for the overrun by timer?
