Wiring a hive system into Halstead Eden CBX Combi Boiler

Hi,

I'm wiring a hive system against the above boiler and misunderstood the instructions for the boiler:

Instead of the plug on the left, I wired my thermostat into L2 and L3 on the right (circled in red). This didn't work as I had no power in the Hive Receiver. I appreciate that this is not what the diagram above is suggesting but should it have worked?

the hive receiver has 6 ports labelled: L, N, E, 1, 2, 3 and 4 as seen here:

I've interpretted the wiring as only needing to wire into port 2 and 3. Is this correct or do I also need to wire L, N, E, etc.?

1&3 are the thermostat contacts - common and heating on.
They connect to L2 and L3 in the boiler.

The receiver requires mains power to operate. If you don't connect any, it won't work.

ok. If I've interpreted that correctly, I will need a 5 core flex where I will connect to L2, L3, L, N and Earth on the boiler (black plug above) and then connect the following in the receiver: 2, 3, L, N and Earth.

My confusion was caused by the a I've pic that only talks about L2 and L3.

Hope that makes sense.
