wiring an light in ceiling with 6 wires

Afternoon,
can anyone help me please.
i have an existing fitting, i have replaced, but i can not get the switch to work.
i have 3 lots of live (red) neutral (black) and earth have tried all combinations and i can get the light working using the switch on the landing but not on its own switch.
i have tried the three possible combinations, and one of the black wires does not have a red sleeve on to asssit.

i have done this, and because i thought i had done it wrong i have tried the black wires in the 3 different combinations. the only thing i can get to work is the landing light switch on two of the combinations will light the lights, and the bedroom switch will not!!! the other combination landing works ok, but does not light bedroom via landing or bedroom switch.
i looked again at the wires and two of the three wires coming out of ceiling have the earth wires wrapped together, so tried the black wires together from these into the blue and the single black into the brown but no good!!!!
any other suggestions please?

It's possible you've melted the contacts in your switch at some stage, as if you've tried combinations with the power on, then you may at some point have created a L-N short, at which point the contacts in the switch may melt with the fault current.

Do you have a multimeter, if so I'd turn the power off, replace the switch, then use the multimeter to identify the switch wire (by doing a continuity test across each red/black pair while turning the switch on and off). At that point, you know which is your switched live (and I suggest adding some red/brown sleeving/tape to indicate it).

As Rebuke says, the pictures show twin red cable as switch wire, this is the ideal situation but use the meter and trial method as suggested.

Just a couple of mods on Chri5's diagrams.

Don't use insulating tape. Its hopelessa after a year or two and just ends up a nasty mess.

Also, if the connection blocks are going into the ceiling void they must be enclosed. A chocbox is useful for this.

i have replaced the switch and tried again but no good. So i think i have to try the meter method
