I think she is now going to go for a slimline electric boiler given this will do a better job and will fit in a cupboard.

The wiring for 2x immersions was already laid. 1x of these will be used for the immersion, will the other be suitable for a boiler? Would a 6kw v 9kw boiler make a difference to wiring requirements?

If, as you seem to be suggesting, you're talking about 6kW/9kw electric boilers, then wiring intended for an immersion will almost certainly be woefully inadequate for that.

Is this electric boiler going to run a CH system? If so, it sounds like a very expensive option (to run).

Yes, but it a v.small 'house'.

Downstairs is 5x5m kitchen/living, 3x5m guestbed/ensuite
Upstairs (in roof): 3x5 bed, 3x3 bathroom.

There will also be a woodburner.

Fair enough - but, whatever size it is, it will cost much more to heat it with electricity than it would with gas (if available) or oil, or even LPG. However, maybe it's so small that the cost difference will not be a major issue.

A 9KW boiler requires approximately 40amps
A 3KW immersion heater requires approximately 13amps

Is the wiring for the immersion(s) adequate? Ahh No!

Ok, thanks !!!
You're welcome. As I said, wiring intended for an immersion is almost certainly going to be "woefully inadequate" for a 6/9kW electric boiler. What you would need would be to have new cable installed which was similar in size to that used for an electric shower circuit (similar in requirements to your electric boiler).

Kind Regards, John
