Hi

I need your help to convert a on/off light switch to a power socket that i want to put on the wall. Would the wiring be different?

The trouble with converting a light switch to a power socket is that they run off different circuits, the wiring is different, power sockets take higher loads. If you were to run a power socket from a lighting circuit, you could stand a good chance of exceeding the safe limits of the cables which could be a fire risk.
The best answer would be to run a spur from a socket on an existing ring circuit, details of how to do this can be found in the Electrics section - see the section about electrical circuits.
