I totally agree with you Keith. I followed the instructions on the bag as well and have ended up with the same problem as yourself.

I would love to of used an auger but considering that I only had five holes I wasn't prepared to hire one.

We don't go so mad with our footings as they do in Canada, mainly because ground frost isn't such a problem.
