Wood burning stoves...surrounds question??

Hi,

Could anyone possibly give me an answer to this...

I am rennovating a 1950s 3 bed semi and have an open fire to work with. I will be having a flu liner installed with a register plate etc but wondering about the sides and behind the stove.

Can i use supalux screwed to the brick work and then sealed with vitas heat proof silicone and then just paint it up after??
