Two and a half months ago I sprayed the post and rail of a large menege with dark Ecosote,the fence is four and a half years old and had not been treated since it was put up,the job went well and customer was pleased with the result.Now in places but not all over the fence has thousands of small light coloured lines about 1mm wide and 15mm long perfectly straight and in line with the grain,at first I thought the Ecosote had reacted with whatever was in the wood when it was put up but the worst bit is the gate which is different timber.I have also found some of these marks on fencing that I did'nt treat so I now don't think its the Ecosote.
Any ideas anyone ? ,I have convinced myself this is insect related but what?.
