Hi

We have just had new new stair spindles and handrails installed, amd I'm looking to stain them a nice oak colour.

I've looked at all the stains in the shops and am a little confused as to which is best. Has anyone any experience with the Ronseal Perfect finish varnish (comes with a pad thing to apply it)?

If not, can anyone recommend a good product?

Many Thanks

I just did some external woodwork with Hickson Decor Wood Stain and I'm quite impressed, especially by its coverage. A little goes a long way!

>What wood are they made from?<

Now you're asking. They aren't my windows, they belong to an aquaintance but I got the impression they were made from some kind of softwood. They had last been stained about 4 years ago and were badly needing done again.
Incidentally, Hickson do a light oak stain.
