I’ve repaired a water damaged section of the ceiling. This measures around 2mx2m and this joins into an old section of the ceiling that has a woodchip affect. It’s not a wallpaper so possibly artex or something else. I’m not fussed about getting my new section to look identical but don’t want it to be smooth white.

Can you please suggest the easiest way of blending this in.

If it is woodchip get another roll cut out a piece slightly larger than the section then tear the edges so it has a ragged finish ( the rougher the better) paste then replace new section, when dry give it a couple of coats emulsion it should blend in quite well .

There are various emulsions with grit and stuff in it available.

Polycell usually make this sort of stuff, among others.

There's a product called 'Ripple' which should achieve the finish you want, can't remember who makes it.
