I have a large, tiled fire place. The gas fire has been removed, and I now have my TV in there. I am going to lay a wooden floor. The fire place is stepped up about 4" I will also be using the flooring along the 4" vertical face. What sort of edging should I use where the vertical meets the horizontal?

If I understand correctly your 'fireplace' is lower than the rest?

Use a so-called End-threshold to make it a neat transition that also protects the edge of the floor AND leave an expansion gap there.

And if I misunderstood then I'm sorry ;)
