Hi forum

I've got a wooden front door which has recently expanded and become difficult/impossible to open or close. I assume this has been due to the wet weather/dampness recently?

What is the best way to fix this. I am thinking of getting a wooden plane and shaving off a bit of the door until it fits again. Is this a good idea? Are there any other solutions which would be better?

Many thanks.

The problem is shave off some wood and when we get the next drought (and we will) you will want to add some insulation to stop the draft.
Check that the top edge and bottom edge of the door is painted or treated correctly.
