hi corgiman hows things. Can you test the ch thermista the same way by connecting the 2 wires together with a piece of wire .

No, dont do that. Measure the resistance between terminals with a multimeter.

Also check for voltage across the terminals of ntc...

I have the impression forming, that you might not have much idea what you're doing!
Have you got a manual? NTC's are resistors whose value changes with temperature. Resistance is measured in Ohms.
Be careful!
