having problem with worcester 240 boiler. no hot water unless heating is on, have changed diaphragm but still the same. could someone please tell me if more likely to be diverter valve assembly or calorifyer

Does the boiler recognise that a hot tap is on if the heating is off and you turn on a tap?

yes. demand light comes on and boiler fires but heat goes down the flow

Diverter valve stuck on heating side. Replace with new one. Bear in mind that Worcesters can be a s** to work on if you are not used to them ;)

thanks mate. also had another problem with a baxi 105e. when hot water tap is turned on boiler sounds like a fog horn, have spoke to baxi and done what they've told me, checked for blockages in filters, plate to plate e.tc but all clear. burner pressure is fine so not over gassing.

I think there was another post on here very recently with the same boiler, same fault. can't remember exactly but I think they were told it would be the diverter valve.

baxpoti is probably the best to answer this if he comes on tonight ;)

excellent cheers. have always done heating installs, finding this breakdown lark whole new ball game.

thanks for your help
