Hi guys, this might be something or nothing, maybe I'm just super sensitive??
I've got a 1 year old 27cdi which works a dream. Fitted a wireless stat myself with some advice on here and that fires up and switches the boiler on/off when required with no problems.
The problem is that it sounds like the pump is working round the clock, regardless of whether the timer is on/timer/off. By that I mean, if I wake up in the dead of night when everything is completely quiet, I can hear the system running through my ice cold radiator (without the clanking and pinking of a hot rad/pipes).
When I switch the heating on I can hear the boiler kick in, but there is a constant hum regardless of on or off!!!
I've turned off the pre-heat for the water too so it's not like it's heating that constantly. But the 'E' (economy) button is lit.
Is this normal for a condensing boiler? If so, I'll just try and ignore it.
If not, is there anything you can suggest I try to help diagnose a fault before I get the plumber back in??
Many thanks.
Eddie.
