Worcester 28 cdi - no hot water but central heating works.

Ok so this is being a pain. We have had trouble with no hot water but central heating works. If we run central heating we can get warm water.

We googled and information we came across was diverter valve.

So this weekend hubby changed diverter valve to brand new and we checked our manual parts list at the back to ensure we ordered the correct part.

He fitted and we did have a leak from a pipe going into the water inlet pipe which I posted earlier and that now seems fine after the clean and silicone grease.

We waited a few hours and now working with it, checked: no leak, central heating working, STILL no hot water.

That don't make sense.

Can anyone please suggest where we have messed up? We really thought changing diverter valve would have fixed the problem. Lights on showing heating on etc but the light for running hot water - no light comes on.

Any advice welcomed.

Did you refit the microswitch head on to the diverter valve properly and is the small plastic disc in place on the end of the spindle on the diverter valve? What happens if you operate the microswitch manually?

As above really. Did you check the old diaphragm to see if it was holed to prove the original diagnosis?

Hi, he's adjusted the switch and we now have hot water - yay!

Not checked the old diaphragm yet but yes should check it to see if it was the diverter after all...

Just opened up old diverter and yes the diaphragm was perished with holes.

I prefer to just do the diaphragm, but too late now
