Hello, guy`s, got a problem with my boiler as it`s not heating water, or should i say it`s a kinda luke warm with the odd blast of hot but barely any really.

I have had the boiler around four years and seviced it as it say`s, however it`s only just started over the last few days and seem`s to be getting worse and to top that, the wife is kicking my ar** about it and its doing my head in.
I know a few plumbers but just thought i would ask you guy`s before i throw myself into the mire.

I have searched the forum but cant seem to find exactly what i need.

Thanks in advance..

When you say you serviced the boiler, did you gas rate the boiler? What exactly did you do to service the boiler?

Sorry i meant, it has been serviced by a corgi reg plumber..

You need to tell us what it is doing when tap is on. stand infront of boiler, look and listen.

Could be the flow turbine not sensing flow, that would be first shout,
but after that it could be a whole host of stuff.

With ther heating OFF does the boiler fire up amd make a noise and heat the water a bit?

Yeah it does, Agile so i think its firing but not hot water, however i just ran it now with the heating off and it cranked up fine.

When it fired this time did it heat fine or was the water poor??

Could be a problem with boiler only going to low gas, or DHW temp sensor.

However it also sounds like an intermittanly working flow turbine.

BG or Worcester for a fixed price repair me thinks!

Sorry guy`s i lost my broadband connection, sod`s law when you need something.

I would think its not the flow turbine because it was changed not so long back, around two months i think, thats if we are on about the same thing.
Is it the inline plastic gizmo that runs in at the back left of the system, which the cold water feeds into.

Where is the DHW situated and what is a DHW btw, lol

The boiler which I visualise has a paddle type DHW flow sensor to the left.

However, there are probably several different boilers which carry 28i as part of the model like the Junior 28i

Hi Agile, the flow turbine and the DHW has now been changed and the plumber is scratching his head cos its still the same.

He changed them but then said it could be the exchanger at fault, however when he changed the sensor he also thought that CH sensor could on the other side could also cause this.
Thing is, im wondering if im getting the garden path treatment cos, how could that sensor have an affect on the DHW.

Right, its now been edited to become a Junior!

Just why is your "plumber" so incompetent at his profession?

Perhaps you need to find a boiler engineer rather than a plumber?

Just what do you mean above when you say the "DHW" has been changed?

I meant the DHW sensor, sorry not used to this stuff

Has your nupty plumber checked the plate heat exchanger for a blockage?

Or even measured the temperatures of the flow and return on DHW mode?

I think he would be better fault finding on toilets!

Tony

Jesus your not filling me with much confidence Agile lol.

He mentioned about looking at it but it`s saturday and he`s off to a footy match.
He checked the sensors with multimeter before on the old ones and then again on the new ones.

I noticed when i was looking at the flame, with the heating on, it was fairly powerfull and when the hot water was turned on it dropped a little but not a lot.

In that case he has taken his eye off your ball!

One wonders why he changed the sensors if they checked OK on his multimeter.

Perhaps he does not know how to use it but at least he has got one which many dont!

One of my failed ex-trainees now tries to fix boilers with a neon screwdriver ! He has forgotten 99% or what I taught him. Still one of the nicest and most honest people you could ever meet!
