I have no hw/ch due to the fact that nobody told me to top up with water and the boiler has run dry! I have tried this reset button and turning on and off after I put some water in it but it wont start have I ruined my 2 year old boiler completely overheating it or can I save it

Always someone elses fault isn't it!

Did your installer not tell you this? I tell many customers to keep an eye their boiler pressure and sure enough 12 months later they have forgotten.

As for the boiler, it might be good to get it serviced as it is now 2 years old. ( I suppose that is someone elses fault as well? No body told you?).

Good Luck.

No it was our builders plumber and we were never told. Anyway do you think I have done a lot of damage to my boiler - or can it be restarted. I have a plumber coming late next week to have a look

Thank you all very much for your help. I have tried to hold the reset button down and nothing works - no the pump does not work. I hope it is nothing too drastically wrong as its my fault

The overheat stat on the RH of the h/e might be faulty, or NTC - get a decent engineer to have a look at it mate.

Was there anyone indahouse when it overheated?
Pump may have seized due to running dry, but it would have made a racket. That's about he worst that's likely to have happened.

What happens - does the fan run?

thanks for all your help - I'm a woman and completely ignored the noises - the reading now is 1.7 pressure because I added some water.
