Hi all, I've replaced the diverter valve diaphragm and the demand light is now lighting to show it is working BUT the pilot light now refuses to stay lit the system has been recharged but I can hear a gurgling sound from boiler when hot water taps opened is this trapped air and is it a likely cause for non lighting pilot? Help greatly appreciated in need of a shower soon!!

Pilot light is gas operated and it also has a safety device.

To work on that you need a gas registered engineer.

Thanks Tony I realise the need to use Gas safe etc however just wondered why it may not be working as I never touched the thermocouple so presumed it may be a pressure switch issue or something simple like that?

Don't know why you drained the primary circuit...no need to. Perhaps yopu have overheated the boiler due to trapped air...have you checked the overheat thermostat hasn't popped out.

When you replaced the diaphragm you lowered the controls panel..perhaps there is an iffy joint.

Problem sorted, overheat thermostat showing continuity but dodgy connection replaced spade end connector and VOILA; A OK. Thanks to all who helped.
