Worcester Boiler condensate pipe

I have a Worcester boiler, installed by BG some 5 years ago and the condensate pipe, which is heavily insulated, vents outside. A couple of years ago the pipe froze and my boiler stopped working. Since my boiler is installed directly above a sink in the utility room I was wondering if I could simply get the pipe to vent into the sink. Would it be a problem?

Yes. Condensate is acidic and over time it would damage/discolour the sink (depending on what material it is made from).
You also wouldn't want it dripping in the sink when you were using it.

Connecting it to the sink waste wouldn't be a problem - you'll just have to go through the worktop.

Until the first air break the condensate pipe is part of the boiler's flue. Get a Gas Safe engineer in to have a look at the options.

Do you have mains drainage or a sceptic tank? Condensate waste should go into a sceptic tank.
