Can anyone help please with this problem that we have?
The boiler, in central heating mode, after being on for about 30 seconds, makes a loud, horrible, gridning noise, like a set of keys being banged against a sheet of metal.
In hot water mode it doesn't happen.
Also when the burner goes out, and the pump on overrun stays on, the noise stops.
I did notice quite a bit of air in all the upstairs radiators, and I vented the pump which was ok.
The boiler doesn't go to lockout, it's just very very noisy! The radiators all get hot ok as well.
Any ideas please on what it could be and how to hopefully sure it? The boiler is not new, and non-condensing.
Thanks for reading my post
I should also add, that after 10 mins or so of being on, the noise goes!
