Hi,

I have recently bought a new house which has the above boiler fitted. It has a gravity fed shower (I think !!) The non electric type !!

Every time someone has a shower we get a nasty hammer through the pipes ?? If I run the cold water in the bathroom it doesn't happen. Anyone help ??

Also, I have just gone to replace the nasty old looking room stat in the hall (not the best position, I know) and the wiring in it doesn't appear to go back to the boiler. I want to run in a new circuit, so any help on wiring in a new stat would be appreciated.

Sorry for the long thread, your help is mucho appreciated !!!

Is the shower fed off the tank :?:

Could be the float valve needs attention/ replacing.

Run the shower and stand near the tank to see if you can pinpoint the origin of the noise.

If the pipes seem too loose, clip them :D

There is no tank ?? and no the pipes aren't loose !!! This noise is so loud you can hear it from the street outside ! I have tried pinpointing it but no luck.

Does anyone know how to wire in a analogue room thermostat to this boiler ? The docs with the stat say it is a 3 wire set up, but I don't know how to wire it into the boiler. I am assuming it goes in series with the CH pump or something ?
