Hi folks

We have a Worcester Bosch dansmoor 15/19 oil fired boiler That worked fine until now . Basically thers no hot water .the boiler fires up but cuts out after a while leaving the inlet and outlet pipe very hot but Thers no hot water flowing. The system Is gravity feed . There is plenty of oil so I don't think it's that . Any ideas would be appreciated.[/code]

Probably a "Danesmoor".

If its a gravity HW circuit then thats usually and airlock or lack of water in the F&E tank. Probably the latter.

Look in the FAQ on this site for details of how to investigate these problems.

Thanks Tony for your help.
There appears to be sufficient water in the system . Ie the feed tank in the loft is full , the taps all run but the hot runs cold. I agree an airlock seems possible. just no circulation from Boiler to copper cylinder.
the boiler shuts down after short while, i guess to protect itself overheating
futhermore the pipes are hot up to a metre from their connection with the boiler , poss heat just migrating from boiler.

Just re-read original post - Are yo sure you have checked the water level in the SMALL Feed & Expansion Tank - you may have only found the large Cold water service tank, look for a small tank nearby!

Spot on fellas .. Thank you so much . After much medaling I found that the small plastic tank was empty with the stuck ball valve . Having filled the tank and let the water flow through and fill it was obvious cure . The boiler is still slow to kick in but I'm sure there is circulation to the cylinder now. Maybe some air to deal with .either way it was defiantly the missing link
Thank you all again

Nick
