I have a fairly new central heating system(aprox 2years old). The main boiler is a Worcester Bosch HE30 combi. It is fitted with night setback timer(which works fine) and a TR2 room thermostat. The problem I am having is that the actual room temperature has to drop far below the temperature that the TR2 stat is set to for the boiler to kick in. The light on the boiler comes on to say the central heating is on but the ignition light does not illuminate or the boiler fire up. I am an electrical appliance engineer by trade, but obviously dont get involved with boilers! I'm suspecting that it might be the TR2 room thermostat that is at fault, but would appreciate any pointers from the Pro's amongst you!
Thanks,

AndyStu

do all your rads have stat valves? had a prob with this boiler removed one stat valve head and it was ok

if its the same as mine you should be able to see the reading at the boiler, but they keep changing this range, often its hard to keep up.

Tr2 can be sensitive to picking up inductive signals if the cable is routed along mains.
If the cable runs along a mains cable, try separating them

Thanks for your replies guys:
Gordongas. Yes all radiators have rad valves except ofcourse the room in which stat is set.
Whatdoiknow: The digital display gives a two figure number, but I am presuming that this is the temperature of water actually in the boiler as it displays aprox 76/77 when the boiler is running, then drops to about 27 or lower when not running.
Bengasman: The system has been in for around two years and only started to have a problem a couple of months ago, but anythings possible. Can this TR2 be changed for anything less sensitive or for a simple room stat?

yes thats the boiler temp 2 green digits, do you have a controler on the right hand side?
some dont i know, why i dont know  but if you do you will be able from that be able to see the set temp and the actual temp.

if not then that point is wasted,

Bengas is right, the cable can pick up stray induction, reposition and or use screened cable.
