Worcester bosch Heatslace 20/25 No hot water

Wife put on central heating for an hour yesterday and we have not had any hot water since. Rads get hot when water is programmed.
I have replaced the diverter valve as the old one apeared to be sticking. The stem would not rise under the pressure of the return spring.
The replacement DV is honeywell part V4044F. This DV has auto and manual settings. I have left it on auto.
Boiler aprox 4 years old.
I am still getting hot rads instead of hot water. Have I overlooked another possibility for the problem.

If you have changed the whole valve are you sure its the right way round?

I have fitted the DV with inlet `a ` to the front of boiler which is a feed from the boiler.
outlet ` ab` goes to the pump and `b` goes to central heating system.
If lever is put to manual we have hot water.
If it is set at auto the rads get hot even when programmer is turned off.
Could the DV be the wrong way round.

Yes, it's the wrong way round. Port A should go to the heating.

I wrongly assumed that the `auto manual `lever should face the front of the appliance not face to the back.
