Our heating came on yesterday for the first time since spring and I noticed a slight problem - a small amount of water under the boiler (absolutely tiny).

I took the bottom panel off and traced it to the central heating return (where the copper pipe enters a black plastic connector). As it's fairly minor I've decided to leave it until the guy comes to service it next week. Any ideas?

The other thing I noticed was that the clear plastic condensate bottle was almost full, is this normal or should I be worried?

Thanks

Thanks Dan, I am relieved hear it should be full.

My thought was to let the plumber take a look during the service and tell me what needs doing.

To be honest I suspect bad installation. The guy that installed it didn't seem the most diligent, I had to get him back once for leaks and he didn't put the cables in properly so one day the whole thing just went off.

Sorry Simond I missed your post first time round. It was installed in 2014 and it is a compact.

I think I found the source of the leak and managed to fix it. The condensate pipe enters the boiler at a bit of an angle and the rubber connector it sits in was deformed (it was egg shaped).

It looked like the rubber bit should have had a clip or similar round it to clamp it firmly to the plastic pipe. I put a cable tie round it to seal the rubber and no more water this morning.
