Hi there. hope someone can answer this.

I have the following problem with my boiler, in particular the central heating.

The hot water works fine. The problem I have is that the boiler will not come on for the central heating when required to do so by either the timer, or by increasing the temperature on the thermostat.

I have tried changing the batteries in the thermostat to reset (this worked a year or so ago) but nothing has improved.

The central heating only comes on if I press the override button.

Is there a reset fix or does anyone know a way to troubleshoot this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Wow - quick responses - thanks a lot!

It's a wireless thermostat.

There are two lights, red and green - I'm not at home right now but can check later and provide much better information.

Is there anything I should be looking for?

Thanks
Rob

best to get the make and model.there is a way to pair them together usually a test button or holding 2 buttons together.this is easier to do with the stat and reciever next to each other.

i wont be on later but if you pop back on some1 will be able to talk you through it as its pretty easy to do

sounds like it could be the ACL drayton one, or could be re-branded British Gas. Bit of a pain to pair up tbh. Should be able to download instructions from ACL/Drayton website.

When you change the batteries on a drayton, you need to pull the drawers out in the right order, and stick them back in the right order, or it won't work.
They are also known for loosing the connection, which often can not be reinstated. I stopped using them for this reason and either use the siemens rev24rf or the honeywell cm927

Hi there.

I have a Worcester Digistat. It looks like this:

The Front of the boiler looks like this:

The light under the word 'Signal' is constantly red. It usually flashes green when it receives temperature change messages from the Digistat.

At the moment I can only get the central heating on when I use the 'Override' button.

When I changed the battery before (a year or so ago) to try and reset it that way, one of the drawers was broken slightly and didn't click into place as well as the other - I also noted in the manual that the drawers have to be replaced in the right order.

So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or how these can be paired again - but would love any suggestions.

Many many thanks!

Thats a rebranded ACL/Drayton as predicted. The instructions will be the same.

Commissioning the Digistat R.F. System
A) Pull down battery drawers from Digistat unit and allow screen to go completely
blank
B) Turn off the power supply to the SCR receiver unit and leave for 5 seconds
C) Turn on power to SCR unit and check red light is on
D) Put the SCR unit into its manual override mode by pressing the override button
No.2 once. Check the green light comes on and that the boiler fires (Do not press
again)
E) Now, Press & hold down button No.1 (Keep depressed), then press No.2 and keep
depressed
F) The Red LED light will flash a couple of times and then it will go out
G) Now release both the buttons – {the two LED lights should come back on}
H) Get the Digistat transmitter unit and stand two metres away from the SCR unit with
the Digistat unit in your hand
I) Slide in the right hand battery drawer (under the “Plus” button) first
J) Slide in the left hand battery drawer (under the “Minus” button) second
K) The Red LED light will now flash for approx. 7 seconds to tell you that the two units
are communicating.
Put the Digistat unit back on the wall

For some bizarre reason the "own" brand rf stat is a drayton, and not a siemens. Chances are it is knackered.

That got it sorted!

Thanks so much everyone for all your help.

Have a lovely evening

It seems that I spoke too soon.

I've got the same problem - the red 'Signal' light is on constantly again.

I tried the reset again as suggested but it didn't flash when I put the batteries back in the Digistat.

Do you think it might need replacing? Fresh Batteries?

Any help as always would be greatly appreciated.

Before spending time and money, call wb customer support, they are probably willing to talk you through the process of correctly changing batteries, and re-bonding if need be.
Failing that, I'd say get a siemens rev24rf kit, they are the dog's whatsits.

i had problems with the drayton wireless stuff before, its a long time back but i think it was something stupid like a wireless pc keyboard interfering with the signal. they arnt the best as has been said, currently use the honeywell cm927 and theyve been good. interested in that siemens kit ben, you rate them??

Like you, I found drayton troublesome, and changed to the cm927, which is a good product.
The siemens (only the rev24, the others are average) is more versatile than the honeywell, more accurate, and a very strong signal. Together with the easy programming and various simple override options, I find them on the whole (even) better than the cm927, and about the same money.
