Been searching high and low for this info !

When joining 22mm laminate worktops with unika (or similar) bolts, how tight should they be?

What are the signs over tightening?

Cheers

They need to be tight enough to pull the joint tightly closed. If over tightened they will start to crush the fibres of the chipboard core which will be visible on the underside and you may also see the edge of the joint puckering up on top (the joint should be perfectly flat at the top). If undertightened the joint will be slightly open. This can allow moisture ingress, which over time will cause the top to blow. With a properly fitted joint most of the sealant will squeeze out when the joint is tightened
