There were explosions in the towers, prime suspect was hydrogen gas created when water from the sprinkler system came into contact with molten aluminium from the fuselages. Puffs of flames ( burning furniture etc ) were blown out of windows as floors collapsed onto the floor below.

The air blasts from the collapsing towers could have damaged the structure of WT7 ( www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2001/11/011116064642.htm )
