There was an old style proteus that was physically sized same as old wylex, but been so long i dont recall numbers
It is a bit more sensitive than type 2, but otherwise alright.

What would you use the different types on ?
'In' is the rating of the breaker, 40A in this case.
Is there a chance changing to a type 1 could cause nuisance tripping ?
No.
As you will see from the table, type 1 (type B nowadays) is normally used for showers.

Yes normal 8.5 electric shower
Ok. No reason to fit a type 2 in the first place.
