Hi just fitted system appears to be working correctly,

I have noted that if in error I leave a door fitted with a DC (burglar) open the control box still allows me to Arm the system ! According to the install manual says :

"If there are faults within the system, i.e. the tamper
switch of a sensor left opened, the user will not be
able to arm the system
with the Keypad or Keyfob
until the fault is rectified. The user can use the
control panel to force arm the system by pressing
arm twice and then 3. "

Also if an intruder sets off the alarm and then switches the control box (rear slide switch)
or for that matter trashes the box completely, does the external siren keep sounding

sensor left opened,
that is the case of the sensor is open and not the door it is monitoring

Because the system uses one way wireless communication the control panel cannot request a status report from sensors when the system is being armed.

Hence it is impossible for the system to ensure that doors are closed when is being armed.

The tamper is a separate switch in the sensor which will transmit a "tamper" message if the sensor is tampered with.

There are other short comings due to the use of one way communications such as a sensor can be removed from building ( if still attached to the old door frame ) and the panel will never know it is missing.

I suppose you will be checking that the doors have been locked before you go out, so you would notice if they were open.

Yes, once the external siren has been set off, it will continue until it receives a reset signal from the control panel, or it reaches the preset time limit. Smashing or unplugging the control panel will not silence the siren.

It is a good idea to conceal the panel away from, say, the front door where an intruder might see and attack it. You can use a remote keypad near the door to set and unset the panel. If you have the control panel concealed in, say, a bedroom cupboard, it will be easy for you to access at night but out of the way of an intruder, and should be able to perform the dialout process before it is found.

Hi johnD if you could kindly advise!
If I fit the optional smoke alarm unit can I program it in so that if triggered I can exclude the exterior siren from sounding, and just have the CU and smoke alarm sirens sound
Kind regards
Paul
