Howdy everyone,

I wonder if anybody is able to shed some light on a problem we're having:

We're installing the ladder above and it all appeared to be going well until we tried to close the hatch lid... it sits a little over to one side.

We put the frame up into the ceiling and it is flush against one joist and there is a slight gap to the other joist....

The hatch sits over in the corner on the side that is flush to the joist... it is only the corner furthest from where the hatch attaches to the frame that doesn't fit.

We've removed the frame and refitted, but still no joy.

I wonder if we'd be better off not having one side flush and the other off the joist and instead shimming the whole thing and having the same gap all around... ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
